About Counselling?
Counselling in its simplest form is talking. Talking with someone listening, really listening. It is when a person engages with a specially qualified professional, to talk through and make sense of what's going on for them in their life, with the aim of being more content with their life.
A counsellor, won't tell you what to do or judge you.

Counselling gives people a confidential, safe space to be able to talk about what is troubling them, to help bring about a positive change in their life.
What Can Counselling Help With?
There are times in all of our lives when we can feel lost, stuck or overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings.
Having someone impartial to speak to can help if you’re feeling painful emotions or facing difficult times, if you want to improve or change your relationships, or if you would simply like to develop a better
understanding of yourself.
Anxiety, depression, stress, work burnout, loneliness and isolation, relationship pressures, bereavement and grief and family issues are all common reasons that people make the decision to engage in counselling.
It may be something specific like a bereavement, relationship break up or redundancy, or it maybe that something doesn’t feel fulfilled if your life. Sometimes there are things in our past that’s feel like unfinished business which is now getting in the way of everyday life.

You don’t have to be on the verge of crisis, to start counselling; you might be dissatisfied with life in general or wanting to make changes in your life.
Sometimes it is difficult to talk to friends and family, even when you have the most supportive network, and so you may find it easier to speak to someone completely independent. If you make that choice, I will be here to listen and help you explore your thoughts and feelings and so you can better understand you.
